About this

Naomhóga Chorcaí was founded in the early nineties by Pádraig Ó Duinnín and others for preserving Ireland’s traditional boats and maritime cultural heritage. The Irish language was always an important part of the ethos of the club and according to Pádraig the boats respond better to the instructions ‘As Gaeilge’. On behalf of the club Jim O’Donovan secured funding from Cork City Council and with Claire Ní Mhuirthile and award winning filmmaker Stephen Bean this rowing instructional film was produced. Part of the Belfast – Cork Partnership

Bhunaigh Pádraig Ó Duinnín agus daoine eile Naomhóga Chorcaí go luath sna nóchaidí le báid thraidisiúnta agus oidhreacht mhuirí chultúrtha na hÉireann a chaomhnú.Bhí an Ghaeilge mar chuid thábhachtach de mheon an chlub i gcónaí agus de réir Phádraig, freagraíonn na báid níos fearr do na treoracha ‘As Gaeilge’.Fuair Jim O’Donovan maoiniú ó Chomhairle Cathrach Chorcaí thar ceann an chlub agus le Claire Ní Mhuirthile agus Stephen Bean, déantóir scannán a bhfuil ilduaiseanna buaite aige, a rinneadh an scannán teagaisc rámhaíochta seo.
